
The Gilroy Estates ADU features a maxed-out 1,600 sq ft floor plan, made possible by the property’s lot size and local jurisdiction requirements. While most California lots cannot accommodate an ADU of this scale, this site allowed for a thoughtful combination of 1,200 sq ft of livable space plus a 400 sq ft attached garage, reaching the maximum size permitted for an accessory dwelling unit in California.
