Explore a job with Jackson Layne Construction.

Build a legacy with us.

Jackson Layne is a family-owned construction company in Los Gatos, native to Silicon Valley, with nearly forty years of local experience. We take on a range of residential projects across the South Bay and Peninsula, and we run them end to end. Planning, permitting, and building, with the whole team assembled before anyone breaks ground.

You'll work with the owners

No layers. You'll plan with the people who own the company and build alongside carpenters who've been doing this for decades. Questions get answered the same day by someone who knows the answer.

02.
Real craft, real projects

Work on a range of projects, including remodels, additions, ADUs, and structural work. Not production framing, not the same trendy kitchen forty times. The work is varied, and the standard is high.

We plan before we build

Most of the chaos on a job site starts months earlier, in decisions nobody made. We do that thinking up front, before a crew shows up. Less waiting, less guessing, fewer weekends lost.

Production

Expert in interior and exterior finish work on residential projects, including custom homes, remodels, additions, and ADUs across the South Bay and Peninsula. Doors, trim, casework, built-ins, stairs, paneling, and the details clients notice first.

You'll work alongside carpenters and subcontractors who've been doing this for decades. We plan our jobs before they start, so you'll spend your time building rather than waiting on answers.

What we're looking for:

  • Five or more years of high-end finish work on custom residential projects
  • Comfortable reading plans and working from details, not just direction
  • A clean driving record and an active California driver's license
  • Someone who takes pride in work nobody sees as much as work everybody does
Operations

Someone to run residential projects from preconstruction through closeout. Schedules, subcontractors, budgets, submittals, inspections, and the homeowner relationship that holds it all together.

You'll manage a small number of projects at a time so you can manage them properly. Our homeowners hear from us before they have to ask, and keeping that true is a real part of this job.

What we're looking for:

  • Five or more years managing custom residential projects
  • Knows Bay Area jurisdictions, permitting, and inspection processes
  • Can read a set of plans and find the conflicts before the field does
  • Clear communicator, especially when the news isn't good

Build the numbers our projects run on. You'll scope project plans, walk properties, gather subcontractor pricing, and put together budgets homeowners can actually rely on.

This role sits at the front of our process, not the end of it. You'll be in the room while scope is still being decided, which means your work shapes the project rather than just pricing it.

What we're looking for:

  • Three or more years estimating residential projects, ideally custom or high-end
  • Strong takeoff skills and real familiarity with Bay Area subcontractor pricing
  • Able to spot what a set of plans doesn't say
  • Organized and comfortable saying a number is wrong before it becomes a problem
